Combining contemporary design with traditional methods of production is something Lulu & Nat are exceptionally good at. Whilst their range extends to children's pyjamas and adult textiles, it is the vibrant bedlinen for babies and children that is at the heart of their business. Their playful designs are inspired by the colourful printed textiles of Asia, with the fabric printed in India by craftspeople using time-honoured block-printing methods.
Lulu & Nat refers to Lulu Watts and Nats Robinson, the original founders of the business who created their first collection in 2007. Lulu was a children's fashion designer based in London, but a move to India led to an exploration of ancient block printing and tapestry embroidery crafts along with rekindling a love affair with the vivid textiles produced locally. Having designed the first Lulu & Nat collection, a chance meeting with a block printer and embroiderer on a Mumbai train led to that all important first production run in 2008 which was then stocked by a few illustrious stores including Liberty and Cotton & Cologne.
Despite co-founder Nats Robinson leaving the business, Lulu & Nat continued and the intervening years have seen the launch of their website and motherhood for Lulu. By 2013, the range of baby and children's bedding produced by Lulu & Nat had been extended, with a continued focus on colourful and contemporary products and some great new designs for boys in particular. Covering baby bedding, toddler bedding and single bedding, the Lulu & Nat range includes cotbed sheets & duvet sets, cot quilts and single duvet covers, as well as bunting and cushions.
Lulu & Nat products are made from 100% Indian cotton and we're sure you'll love them. To see the full range visit them in our store >
