I came across MoochicBaby a short while ago and am delighted to throw a spotlight on their lovely range of baby & toddler bedding; it’s great to find something a little bit different for the nursery, and these are simply gorgeous.
Set up by friends Yuva and Aneesa in 2010, MoochicBaby is all about original, vibrant prints that will bring playfulness and colour to your nursery here, whilst helping to keep old traditions alive in India. Feeling uninspired by the range of children's bedding and nightwear they were finding on the high street, Yuva and Aneesa left city careers to create a bedding and nightwear collection that offers something a little different.
Traditional block-printing methods, which have been passed down the generations in Yuva’s family, are used to print the designs by hand by skilled craftspeople in India. Once each colour element of the design has been carved onto a separate teak block and colour applied, each block is then repeatedly pressed by hand until the full length of cloth is printed. By using this method, you get wonderful variations in the print that speak of the quirkiness, craft and tradition.
Everything in the Moochicbaby collection is 100% cotton and in addition to quilts there are beautiful swaddle blankets and muslins to covet.
(As always, please remember that quilts are not recommended for babies under 12 months of age).
